Sedation Dentistry
Dental Care Without the Anxiety
Sedation is not general anaesthesia. You remain conscious and responsive, but deeply relaxed — in a comfortable, dreamlike state where time seems to pass in minutes.
How It Works
Relaxed, Not Unconscious
Dental sedation puts you in a state of deep relaxation. You can still respond to the dentist's instructions, but you feel calm, detached, and largely unaware of the procedure. Most patients report that a multi-hour treatment felt like it lasted only minutes.
After the procedure, the sedative wears off gradually. You'll need someone to drive you home, and we recommend resting for the remainder of the day.
Your Options
Two Types of Sedation
Tablet-Based
You take a sedative tablet before the appointment. It produces a moderate level of relaxation — you'll feel drowsy and calm, but remain awake. Ideal for routine procedures in anxious patients.
From €100
Intravenous
Administered through an IV line, the sedative takes effect immediately and can be precisely adjusted throughout the procedure. Deeper relaxation than oral sedation. Recommended for longer or more complex treatments.
From €200/hour

Important Information
Before any sedation procedure, we'll review your complete medical history, current medications, and any known allergies. This is essential for your safety and allows us to choose the right sedation protocol.
Patients taking certain medications (particularly blood thinners, sedatives, or antidepressants) must inform the clinic in advance. We'll advise you on any necessary preparation.
After IV sedation, you must have someone accompany you home. We do not recommend driving, operating machinery, or making important decisions for the remainder of the day.
